12th Annual Space Coast “Masskrugstemmen” Championship

“Masskrugstemmen,” which translates loosely to the lifting of a liter mug of beer, is a well-known and a competitive Bavarian sport. The “Masskrug,” a 1 Liter Stein is held with one arm, completely stretched out and parallel to the floor. The goal is simple:

 

To hold a filled stein as long as possible!

But, for those of you who have done it, you know it sounds much easier than it is!  So, we challenge you to come to the Cocoa Oktoberfest where we’ll be holding contests on the following dates:

Listen up all you "Gilrie Men"! There is going to be a "Hanz and Franz" look-a-like contest. Dress up with your friend as the two "pump meisters" and enter to win a trophy and other prizes. If you don't win, no problem because "We are here to pump you up".

Is yodeling making a comeback? We're happy to announce that indeed it is.  "Happy" you say? Yes, that's what we said. Grab your Aplhorn and your Lederhosen and enter a yodeling competition Cocoa Village has never seen the likes of before. And, in case you think yodeling is only for goat herders high atop the mountain ranges, here's a little info we're sure you didn't know...

 

Along with the traditional form of yodeling high atop the Alpine mountains (think Ricola Cough Drop commercials) that many of today's contemporary artists use yodeling in their music?  Some world famous yodelers you might recognize are Mariah Carey, Beyonce, Celine Dion and Doloris O'Riordan from the Cranberries.
